The original K3 reunion
Last night I was, with my daughter, at the original K3 reunion in the Afas Dome in Antwerp. It was amazing to see Karin, Kathleen, and Kristel back again. K3 started in 1998, so when my kids were young they were very popular and all of my kids loved them. We had their CD's, DVD's and it is amazing that they still work, because of the amount of times they have been played. The genius of K3, and maybe all of Studio 100, is that each song seems to be written as a sing-along. So when we were at home, in the car, at the boat, The K3 and Studio 100 songs were played constantly. Yesterdays concert was a nice closing of this time. For me, for my children, and maybe also for Karin, Kristel and Kathleen.
This reunion seems to have started out with Kathleen singing in the Belgium Masked Singer. Of which you can see when she entered for the first time here. As you can see Karin, who was in the jury, heard it in the first sentence she song. In the reveal video you see how emotional it was for them to see each other again. Kathleen has lived in South-Africa for the past 12 years and did not tell everyone that she was back. But that could not fool Karin.
The concert itself was amazing. Although you could see that they aged, well I must say, they were standing very strong. They only needed to sing part of the songs. The audience and backing-vocals carried them very well, with love and respect.
It was amazing to be there, and again, it is a nice closure of time.
